Out of Network Insurance Information

First thing to know: by federal law, all insurance companies are required to cover “timely” lactation care at a rate of 100% with no deductible or co-pay

If it is essential for you to be reimbursed, I recommend you call your insurance to discuss your options prior to our visit

Ask the following questions

  • If you do see a provider out of network, will they reimburse you for the cost?

  • A list of IBCLCs that are in-network

  • If they do not have a list of IBCLCs in-network, or none of those IBCLCs will see you within a couple days, then they are required by law to cover out-of-network.
